Gold for Barbados
Thursday August 20, 2009:

Ryan Brathwaite,(13.12 - NR) eclipsed the hotly fancied Americans’, Terrence Trammell (Silver) and David Payne (Bronze), to win GOLD for Barbados in the men’s 110 meter hurdles at the IAAF World Athletic Championships in Berlin.

What Ryan Brathwaite said at the Medallists’ press conference. “The race was very competitive. I made a couple of mistakes. I tried to keep my rhythm, and it came up great.”

What changed from last year to this? “I did a lot of strength work and more technique during training. I worked really well: the goal was to maintain my strength, I already had the speed between the barriers.”
